Professionalization to scalable SaaS organization.
After the acquisition by XMDS, I led Ginger Payments into growth mode as CRO: Redefining the proposition, setting up and activating the go-to-market plan, hiring European team, aligning the product roadmap, and winning the first European customers.
Situation: Responding to the increasing market need for SaaS solutions, XMDS (software developer in the field of payments for banks and public transport)The Ginger white-label eCommerce gateway enabled Dutch clients’ Rabobank and EMS (joint venture ABN AMRO / Fiserv) merchant services business. Techy co-founders Joachim de Boer and Maarten Sander recognized that they needed help to further grow and scale their start-up, to meet XMDS’s ambitions.
Challenge: Develop appealing value proposition and scalable growth organization enabling profitable international expansion.
Approach: Leveraging the client value model is insights, positioned the solution as an omni-channel payment platform allowing banks and PSPs to offer their merchants a scalable, end-to-end payment solution in their own branding. In parallel, on the principles of self-organisation a European commercial team was built up; Marketing, Sales Development, Field Sales and Customer Success operating as one!!
As a next step, XMDS aims to realize synergies for customers by bringing all its payment companies, Ginger, Vayapay and Pecunda as PODs under one management structure.
